Our Values

“Good values are like a magnet - they attract good people”
— John Wooden

The INCH Lab’s core values are passion, collaboration and innovation. These values shine through in each project and within every member of our lab. We work with integrity to push forward new ideas and to acquire knowledge that will impact children and youth.

Passion

The INCH lab has global reach with members from several countries, including: Canada, United States, and Australia. Collectively, we are passionate about better understanding how we can get children and youth to be more physically active, and how movement behaviours impact their mental health and wellbeing. Our goal will be to inform and create interventions that target improved behaviours and health outcomes among those across the early life stage.

Collaboration

The whole is greater than the sum of its part

The INCH Lab prides itself in having a wide range of collaborations; and establishment of strong partnerships with not only academics, but with industry and organizations, and stakeholders of our research. Research collaborations allow us to have a diversity in perspectives, which contribute to our strong team and research expertise.

Innovation

We are in constant pursuit for finding better solutions. Our research aims to push innovation in terms of novel research designs and in the use of emerging technologies and analytic approaches.

The INCH lab was established in 2013 at the McMaster Innovation Park. The lab started out with the vision of better understanding the mental & physical health of children & youth.
